The assignment
- Event: Capacity Europe 2026.
- Coverage for: Mobily.
- Venue: InterContinental London – The O2 by IHG.
- Banana Swift’s role: photography and videography, with same-day delivery.
- On-site team: photographer, videographer and editor.
Bring the edit into the production plan
Same-day delivery changes the production brief. Capturing the event is one part of the job; deciding where and how the material will be edited is another. For this assignment, relying on remote uploads was not a good fit, and we deployed an editor on site.
An on-site editor meant the editing role was based at the venue alongside the photographer and videographer. The approach differed from our Meta Partner Summit coverage, where hourly uploads supported a remote editor. The deadline was similar; the practical route to meeting it was different.
Three roles, one delivery requirement
The photographer, videographer and editor each had a distinct role. That structure made editing an explicit part of the event production, alongside the two types of coverage the brief required.
For brands and agencies, this is worth considering when comparing production proposals. The crew needs to reflect both what must be captured and when the finished work is needed. A same-day deadline is an editing requirement as well as a filming requirement.
The result: same-day delivery
Banana Swift delivered photography and video on the same day. The defining production decision was the on-site editor: when remote uploads were not a good option, the team was organised around an alternative that suited the brief.
The takeaway is practical. A delivery deadline should inform the production setup from the outset, including the editing provision, not simply appear at the end of a filming schedule.
Planning a similar event? Start with these questions
For comparable coverage, we recommend separating capture priorities from delivery priorities. The moments that need filming during the event and the material needed first may require different decisions. Agree both with the production team, then work through these practical questions.
- Define what same-day delivery means for your brief. Agree which photography and video are needed, their intended use and the delivery deadline.
- Choose the editing setup early. Consider whether remote working suits the assignment or whether an on-site editor should be included in the team.
- Allow for the editor’s working space. Discuss access, power and a suitable position with the event team before arrival.
- Make review responsibilities clear. Identify who can approve the work and how feedback will reach the production team.
- Agree priorities. If the brief changes during the event, decide which requirements take precedence and confirm any effect on delivery.
